Burn Boot Camp Afterburn Grass-Fed Whey Protein Bars, specifically the Triple Chocolate Almond flavor, are undergoing a recall due to the potential presence of foreign materials. In a company announcement posted by the FDA on Wednesday, remnants of disposable hairnets, shrink wrap, and parchment paper were discovered inside the bars.
The voluntary recall, isolated by protein bar maker Doctors Scientific Organica, pertains to three batches of the Triple Chocolate Almond bars. Distributed nationwide through Burn Boot Camp locations and online, this recall exclusively concerns the mentioned flavor and batches.
Burn Boot Camp emphasized that no other products or protein bar flavors are affected. The company highlighted the potential risks associated with flexible, non-sharp foreign objects, stating they “may cause minor injuries such as transient choking or gastrointestinal system injury.”
Despite no reported illnessesor injuries, the company initiated the recall based on consumer reports. Individuals who purchased bars with lot codes 181, 184, and 187 are advised not to consume the product. The FDA recommends returning the items to the point of purchase or self-destruction.
Lot numbers are printed on the foil and the bottom of each cardboard case. Burn Boot Camp assured cooperation with the FDA in this voluntary recall, emphasizing their commitment to product quality, safety, and integrity. The company apologized for any inconvenience caused to consumers and retail customers.
