According to social media posts featuring viral pictures from their ring ceremony, Sam Altman, the CEO of AI firm OpenAI, reportedly tied the knot with his longtime partner, Oliver Mulherin.
The images showcase Altman and Mulherin exchanging rings at a scenic location. Although Mulherin was said to have posted these on Instagram, Hindustan Times could not verify them due to the private nature of the account.
Despite being relatively private about his relationship, the ChatGPT-maker’s CEO and Mulherin were seen together last year at the US State Dinner held in honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the country.
While maintaining a low profile in the media regarding their relationship, Altman had previously expressed his desire to have children with Mulherin in an interview with New York Magazine.
Altman and Mulherin share a home on Russian Hill in San Francisco during the workweek and retreat to a 25-year-old remodeled house on a private ranch in Napa, California, on weekends. Business Insider reported that Altman, a vegetarian, raises cows at the latter location.
During his time as a computing and software systems student at the University of Melbourne, Mulherin worked on AI projects related to language detection and games.
Before Mulherin, Altman was known to have been in a nine-year relationship with Nick Sivo. Together, Altman and his former boyfriend founded Loopt, a geolocation software for friends, as reported by New York Magazine.
This recent development comes after Sam Altman navigated through one of the most challenging periods of his career, facing board termination and experiencing two interim CEOs within a week before ultimately being reinstated.
