Blake MacLeod
World Federalist Movement – Canada Board Member; Mondial Managing Editor
Blake MacLeod is a longstanding member and current Board member of World Federalist Movement – Canada (WFM–C), the Canadian member organization of the global movement working toward more effective, transparent, and accountable global governance. His involvement with WFM–C began as a Vancouver branch member in 2003, and he has since represented the organization in numerous capacities, including as Vancouver branch Vice-President and as moderator at the international press launch of the United Nations Parliamentary Assembly (UNPA) campaign. A WFM–C delegate to the World Peace Forum, he also served in a secretarial role during round-table stakeholder discussions on creating a Women, Peace and Security ambassador position in Canada.
After many years on the national Board, MacLeod has acted as recording Secretary for the Board and Executive Committee, and he remains active in committee work as well as strategic advocacy and campaign efforts. His federalist interests center on United Nations reform, the UNPA campaign, and strengthening the International Criminal Court. His broader civic engagement has included electoral district association liaison work, volunteering on political campaigns, and serving as a convention delegate.
MacLeod contributes to Mondial, the journal published jointly by WFM–C and Citizens for Global Solutions, where his work has supported the publication’s editorial production. For the Summer 2024 issue he reviewed Keep Hope Alive: Essays for a War-Free World, a contribution reflecting his interest in peace and nuclear disarmament. Through these roles he advances WFM–C’s mission of building democratic global institutions and a more peaceful, rules-based international order.
