Eston McKeague is the President of the Young World Federalists (YWF), a youth-led, volunteer movement building support for world federalism that operates online and is registered as a nonprofit in the United States. He first became involved with YWF in August 2020 and has since helped grow the organization into an international hub for young people advocating global democracy and stronger global institutions. He also serves on the board of Citizens for Global Solutions in the United States. McKeague is a multimedia design and communications professional based in Berlin, Germany. Originally from Seattle, he completed a BA in Global Affairs at Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies, Western Washington University, then moved to the Netherlands for an MSc in Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. His professional work centers on communications, video, and design that make dense policy and governance topics accessible to general audiences. Writing in Mondial, the journal of Citizens for Global Solutions and World Federalist Movement – Canada, he has argued for closer coordination across the world federalist movement: his Fall 2021 article, An Integrated Movement: The necessary steps to unite the world, set out practical steps for uniting the movement’s many organizations behind a shared strategy. Through YWF and his wider advocacy, McKeague focuses on engaging a new generation in debates over UN reform, global democracy, and the case for federal world institutions.
