Jacopo DeMarinis is the Social Media and Communications Coordinator at Citizens for Global Solutions (CGS), the United States membership organization within the World Federalist Movement / Institute for Global Policy network. His work and writing focus on world federalism and democratic global governance, advancing the case that strengthened international law and empowered global institutions are needed to address transnational challenges. His published commentary spans climate and environmental governance, nuclear disarmament, reform of the United Nations, the regulation of military artificial intelligence, and the protection of universal human rights, including the rights of LGBTQI+ persons. For CGS he has authored pieces such as “A Government Whose Time Has Come,” “The Need for Global Unity: How World Law Can Save Us All,” and “The Dangers of Big Power Domination: We Need a More Just, Multilateral World Order Now,” several of which also appeared in Mondial.
DeMarinis is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he completed a Spanish minor and was recognized with a Student Leadership Award from Immigration Services of Champaign-Urbana for community volunteer work carried out through his coursework. He has also served as a board member of Chicago Area Peace Action, a grassroots peace and disarmament organization. His stated professional path is in peacebuilding and conflict resolution, including graduate study in conflict transformation and social justice, with the long-term goal of working in the United Nations system on political and peacebuilding affairs.
