Florencia Gor

Florencia Gor is an Argentine advocate for world federalism, regional integration, and international criminal justice. She is Past-President of Democracia Global, the World Federalist Movement member organization in Argentina, and a member of the Executive Committee of World Federalist Movement – Canada. She has also served as Chair of the World Federalist Movement Congress. Gor is closely identified with the campaign for a Latin American and Caribbean Criminal Court against Transnational Organized Crime, known by its Spanish acronym COPLA (Corte Penal Latinoamericana y del Caribe contra el Crimen Transnacional Organizado). The initiative was launched by Democracia Global to propose a supranational court addressing crimes such as drug trafficking, arms trafficking, human trafficking, migrant smuggling, money laundering, and transnational bribery, and it has drawn support from parliamentarians, jurists, academics, and partner NGOs across the region. As a representative of the COPLA Coalition, Gor has written and reported on the campaign’s progress, including its presentation at the United Nations General Assembly and its growing recognition on the global stage. Her contributions to Mondial, the journal of Citizens for Global Solutions and World Federalist Movement – Canada, include COPLA campaign updates that track this effort to regionalize international criminal justice. Through her work she connects Latin American legal and political advocacy with the broader world federalist movement, arguing that strengthened international institutions and the rule of law are essential responses to transnational organized crime.
