Matt McDonough is a green energy consultant who has been committed to the cause of world federalism for more than four decades. Following two tours as an Air Force rescuer in Vietnam, he joined the World Federalist Association in 1974 and became president of the Amherst, Massachusetts chapter. He has since served on regional and national boards of Citizens for Global Solutions (CGS, the successor organization to the World Federalist Association), and he currently sits on the CGS board as an At-Large Executive Committee member. McDonough’s long advocacy reflects the conviction that the survival of the planet depends on building a democratic federation of nations, a theme that runs through his work for CGS. Writing in Mondial, the journal of Citizens for Global Solutions and World Federalist Movement (Canada), he contributed the 2025 tribute In Memoriam: Randy Kehler, remembering the late anti-nuclear organizer and founder of the Nuclear Weapons Freeze Campaign.
