Tad Daley, J.D., Ph.D., is a writer, policy analyst, and longtime advocate for world federalism and the abolition of nuclear weapons. He serves as Director of Policy Analysis at Citizens for Global Solutions (CGS), the United States organization that, with World Federalist Movement – Canada, publishes Mondial. Since the 1990s he has held several leadership roles at CGS, including Student Division Chair, Policy Director, and Vice President. CGS traces its roots to the United World Federalists, founded in 1947 with Albert Einstein as its first board chair.
Daley completed his Ph.D. in Public Policy Analysis in 1995, the fiftieth anniversary year of the United Nations, after many years affiliated with both the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the RAND Corporation, where he was a member of the International Policy Department. That year he co-founded the Campaign for a New United Nations Charter, an effort to activate Article 109 of the UN Charter to convene a comprehensive charter review conference.
He has served as a speechwriter, policy advisor, or co-author for members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, including former Congressman Dennis Kucinich and the late Senators Alan Cranston and Harris Wofford. He is the author of the book Apocalypse Never: Forging the Path to a Nuclear Weapon-Free World, published by Rutgers University Press. His writing on nuclear disarmament, United Nations reform, and democratic global governance has appeared widely. He is also President of the Americans for Democratic Action Foundation of Southern California.
